Today, I'm finally able to share some incredible news. The United States, France, and Italy worked together to take down a major explicit deepfake website, CFAKE.com, that was hosting thousands of nonconsensual AI-generated images of me, other public figures, and women around the world. I got involved in this fight because I know firsthand how violating it is to have your image used without your consent. No one should have to live with that kind of exploitation. Today's action is an important step forward in holding bad actors accountable and protecting victims from tech-enabled sexual abuse. As AI continues to evolve, we have to make sure our laws and protections evolve with it. Deepfake abuse is impacting women and girls everywhere, with an estimated 1 in 8 women globally having experienced image-based abuse. Executive produced by our CEO Paris Hilton, the series follows journalist Laurie Segall as she works alongside cyber investigators, journalists, and advocates to expose the figure behind one of the internet’s most notorious deepfake platforms, hosting 17M monthly visitors.
