Sameer Samat さんがシェアしましたReally proud of the team's work on combating scams on Android devices. It's a massive problem that costs users $400B+ annually and technology and specifically AI can really help here. For example, we've trained models that are specifically tuned to detect fraudulent calls, or text messages. These capabilities have already protected millions of people. But it is a constant fight and we will keep investing here.Sameer Samat さんがシェアしましたMobile scams are a massive global problem, costing users over $400B annually. To address this, we’ve been working hard over the past couple of years to build real-time scam detection for calls and messages on Android, warning you the second a conversation looks suspicious. 🚫 This feature has already protected millions of users from potential scams, but we need your feedback to help us stay one step ahead of attackers. If you or your family or friends have seen one of our warnings during a call or text conversation and it helped protect you, could you take two minutes to tell us about it? 📢 Your input directly helps us improve this feature and protect more people. Sameer Samat さんがシェアしましたAndroid 17 is rolling out to Pixel devices today! Big congrats to the Android team and thank you to all the beta testers who helped us along the way. There are a ton of new features in A17, but here are some of my favorites: 🫧 Bubbles: Long-press any app to turn it into a floating window or dock it in a bottom bubble bar on large screens to seamlessly multitask while referencing notes or maps. 🤳 Screen Reactions: Use an improved toolbar to simultaneously record your phone screen and your selfie camera, and easily share video reactions over apps or sites. 🎮 Foldable Gaming: Level up with a 50/50 split layout featuring the game on top and a gamepad below, plus controller remapping and memory optimization to stop frame drops. 🔒 Security Safeguards: Take control with temporary location access, selective contact sharing, biometric lockdown in Find Hub, and enhanced anti-scam Live Threat Detection. Look out for an update on your Pixel device, and other Android devices throughout 2026. Here’s Dieter explaining Bubbles!

Sameer Samat さんがシェアしましたMeeting Paris Hilton to talk about Android wasn't on my bingo card at the start of this year! But I am so glad we made it happen. Paris is a long-time Motorola user and has lots to share on consumer experience. She isn't just a pop culture icon; she's a CEO, a neurodiversity advocate, and a self-declared undercover nerd juggling a million ideas. So we set up a custom “Sliv Lab” for her to see what she could build. Watching her vibe-code a custom, ADHD-friendly organizational app in real-time was remarkable. Head to android.com/paris to watch the process, try the 'Iconic Ideas' app she created, and learn more about how our tools can help you build exactly what you need. It's awesome to see so many people become developers with advances in technology. Excited for more builders on the platform! 🚀📱 #IconicAndroid

Sameer Samat さんがシェアしましたI had a great conversation with Mark Gurman on stage at #BloombergTech. We talked about the future of consumer tech and devices, from phones to foldables, glasses and laptops – and what Android’s transition from a traditional operating system into an intelligence system means for people who use these devices. It’s all about making sure that technology is enabling tools that are truly useful, where it takes your intention into action and saves you some time. I also shared some techniques that I use to manage all the context switching at work, including the quarterly “calendar cleanse”. Hope some of you find that interesting! Thanks, Mark and the Bloomberg team for having me! You can watch the replay here: https://lnkd.in/gJEKkYaH

Sameer Samat さんがシェアしましたThe June Android Drop is here! It brings new ways to help you stay safe, get more stylish, and share with your friends and family. A major focus for us has been protecting you from scams. We know phone scams are a serious problem, and are only getting more sophisticated with AI deepfakes and number spoofing – which is why we are introducing a powerful new feature to spot scammers who attempt to impersonate your contacts. With our new fake call detection on Android, you can now verify if a call is actually coming from your contact’s device. If a scammer pretends to call from a trusted number, you’ll get a warning so you can end the call fast. This is an industry-first feature that we’re really excited about and is available on Android 12+ devices with the Phone by Google app. Here’s what else you need to know about the June Android Drop: 👕 Improved Styling: You can now use Circle to Search to find an entire outfit in one go without switching apps. Plus, Google Photos is giving you a personal digital closet where you can mix, match, and virtually try on your clothes. 👨👩👧👦 Family Safety: Kids under 13 will now have access to helpful features in the Personal Safety app, like setting emergency contacts on the lock screen and car crash detection. Teens can also use Safety Check and real-time location sharing. 🤝 Easier Sharing: Quick Share now works with AirDrop on more Android devices, making it easier than ever to securely share files, photos, and videos back and forth with your iPhone friends. 📚 Smart Reading: Get more out of Google Play Books with a new "Catch me up" recap feature and book insights. 🐝 Fun Expressions: Remix your emojis with new Emoji Kitchen combinations in Gboard to find the right mix to match your mood. Huge thanks to the teams for bringing these features to life!

Sameer Samat さんがシェアしましたWe just wrapped up Google I/O, and while we had some incredible announcements, the real highlight for me is talking to developers and learning more about how they use our tools and platforms to help make the world a better place for everyone! A few standout projects (of many!): 🩺 Samu Mhlambi built an AI-powered app called NurseBrain®. It’s designed specifically by nurses to replace outdated paper tracking sheets, taking some of the friction out of clinical workflows. 🗣️ Ji Woong Jang is tackling language-learning anxiety with TEUIDA. The app uses interactive virtual simulations that feel like actual conversations with native speakers so users can build confidence without the stress of face-to-face mistakes. 🗓️ Leonard Mehlig is helping folks cut down on decision fatigue with unorderly GmbH, a visual day planner that turns your schedule into a color-coded timeline. I could definitely use this for my own calendar! 😂 🎬 DeShuna Spencer launched kweliTV, Inc., an incredible streaming service and digital network dedicated to showcasing independent films and documentaries from the global Black diaspora. I also had a fantastic time catching up with Science Communicator Orbit (youtube.com/@Unrealscience) and Professor Dukjin Kim. They flew out from South Korea alongside 10 brilliant AI startups to represent our ChangGoo acceleration program. The momentum coming out of that region is truly incredible – the 100 companies in our most recent cohort saw their combined revenue jump by roughly 70%! Case study in execution. Huge thanks to all the developers who took the time to share their stories with us. We’re super proud to support this community, and I can’t wait to see what you all build next! Technology is always at its best when it naturally fits into your life. What apps are you finding most helpful in your day-to-day routine right now? Let me know below!

Sameer Samat さんがシェアしましたDocument scanning with your phone is a pain. There is an update to Google Drive on Android that makes this really simple. 📄 Smart Batch Scanning: Scan multiple pages at once, and the system automatically splits them into separate docs. 🚫 Duplicate Detection: Hovering over a page you already scanned? The system instantly catches it. 📸 Auto-Best Frame: Automatically swaps out blurry scans for the highest-quality frame available. 🔒 On-Device Processing: Super fast performance, offline availability, and total data privacy. A great example of AI being genuinely useful for people. Awesome work to the Android + Drive teams for making this happen. Rolling out to Android users now and works on Android devices with 8GB+ of memory.

Sameer Samat さんがシェアしましたOur friends at Spotify caused a stir with their discomorphic icon. Which led us to wonder: Should all icons be discomorphic? According to the Internet this may be the most important question in mobile computing right now. 😂😅 I asked on X whether people wanted to us to make a set of these. The answer was: WHEN CAN I HAVE THEM? Introducing... discomorphic icons on Pixel you can select and try for yourself. I'm not sure how I feel about this. 😅

Sameer Samat さんがシェアしましたYesterday at #GoogleIO, we shared a live look at the future of intelligent eyewear: glasses that help in the moment, without taking you out of it. Our audio glasses are launching first this fall, and there are a few things that make them really special: 🕶️ Stylish on the outside: We’ve partnered with Samsung on incredible hardware, and eyewear brands GENTLE MONSTER and Warby Parker on beautiful design, to create frames you'll love wearing. 🧠 Intelligent on the inside: Just say "Hey Google" to get help from Gemini. You can get natural, turn-by-turn directions based on exactly where you're standing and facing. Or, with Gemini Intelligence, ask for help with tasks like ordering your morning coffee on DoorDash, entirely with your voice. 📞 Stay connected, hands-free: You can take calls, send texts and have Gemini summarize missed messages without ever reaching for your phone. 📲 Tap into your apps: XR glasses seamlessly connect with your favorite apps like Uber and Mondly. They pair with both Android and iOS phones. This is the future of intelligent eyewear, and there’s a lot more to come. We’re also making great progress on our display glasses. Excited to share more on that later this year.

Sameer Samat さんが「いいね!」しましたSameer Samat さんが「いいね!」しましたHey Android devs! We’re continuing to evolve how Google Play’s service fees and billing work to give your business more flexibility. Starting June 30, 2026 (in the US, UK, and EEA), we are officially separating our service fee from our billing fee. What this means for you: • More choice: You can now offer alternative billing systems or link directly to your website for purchases. • Lower service fee: It will be 10% for your first $1M (USD) in annual earnings and for all auto-renewing subscriptions. • Separate billing fee: It will be 5% for developers who choose to use Google Play Billing in the US, UK, and EEA (details to follow for other markets). • Rewards for exceptional Android experiences: We’re launching the new Apps Experience and revamped Games Level Up programs. Check out the guidelines now to prepare to qualify ahead of the September 30, 2026 launch. The team has put together the full global release schedule and all the new program specifics over on the Android Developers blog so you can see exactly what’s coming to your region.

Sameer Samat さんが「いいね!」しましたSameer Samat さんが「いいね!」しました#Android is always bringing you new features to help keep you and your family safe. With Android 17, we are excited to introduce new security and safety features that add to our existing multi-layered defenses: 📍 Granular Privacy Controls: You can now grant an app temporary access to your precise location, and share only specific contacts for more control. 🔒 Enhanced “Mark as lost”: Available in Find Hub, this lets you lock a missing phone with your biometrics. Even if a thief has your passcode, now they can't access information on your phone or turn off tracking. 🛑 Stronger PIN Defenses: To stop a thief who's trying to guess their way into your phone, we reduced the number of times someone can guess your PIN and added longer wait times between failed attempts. 🛡️ Upgraded Threat Defense: Improvements to Live Threat Detection block more suspicious apps and scams, and enhanced Advanced Protection mode helps keep you safe from sophisticated threats. 👨👩👧👦 Expanded Parental Controls: We’re expanding on-device Parental Controls to all Android 17 devices. Built directly into Android Settings, this gives parents a single, PIN-protected home to easily manage daily screen time, set automatic nighttime downtime schedules, filter Google Play content, and limit or block specific apps. GPU power is advancing so fast -- and companies are willing to spend so aggressively that they'll only rent the newest model GPUs -- that previous-gen GPUs are effectively worthless. That means data center economics don't work, because you can't recoup the cost of installing GPUs before they become un-rentable. https://lnkd.in/gagATgG2
