I saw the highlights of the Mexico game… I was quite impressed by their one-touch passing and shooting, it looked like some of the great Brazilian teams of old. O jogo bonito!

Checking up the World Cup - Inauguration.
Missed the 1st 15 min, but this is some pre - Inauguration.
It will go on another hour, or so, before the formal the ceremony. Ah well, it will be plenty of this this summer 😎

I saw the game, though with the number of red cards being passed out, I'm not sure if that was because of the referee being too sensitive, or the teams playing too hard.

Both of South Africa's reds were deserved IMHO. Mexico's was a bit iffy, hard to say definitely if it was a DOGSO situation for me.

Thankfully didn't see any of that in Korea / Czechia or Canada / Bosnia-Herzegovina (so far).

Canada just finished their inaugural match and I think they could have had it.
Good possession and some good moves but perhaps not enough objectivity near the goal.

Saw ~70% of Canada - Bosnia-Hercegovina that ended 1 -1

Bosnia fought more, but Canada was lucky in the end.
Maybe it was a fair result - but I had expected more from Canada.

Haven't seen USMNT play that well in a long time. Maybe that first half was the best performance I've ever seen from them.

Paraguay ain't great, but they aren't a minnow and USMNT has historically struggled against far worse teams. Kudos to Balogun and co on a great performance.

This is what happens when the right manager is appointed. Pochettino is on a very high level and apparently he has a team that fits his style and they believe in what he's doing. I always like to see the hosts do well and progress far into the competition, hopefully the US team achieves success.

Morocco - Brazil was pretty entertaining, ended 1 - 1
Both teams were good, so a great match.

Morocco started better, Brazil ended the game stronger.

And then the Socceroos go out and beat Turkey 2-0. Anything can happen on any given day...

Meanwhile, Germany decimate Curacao 7-1. Looking forward to Netherlands/Japan and Ecuador/Ivory Coast, which should be more evenly matched.
